How CrossFit BC Helps You Prepare

One coached schedule covering the strength, skill, lifting, and engine the 10 XENOM events ask for.

Strength + Olympic Lifting

Snatch, clean, jerk, squat, and pulling strength that holds up under fatigue. The barbell work behind Events 001, 004, 007, and 009.

Gymnastics Skill Blocks

Toes-to-bar, chest-to-bar, muscle-ups, handstand push-ups, wall walks, and rope climbs, mapped to the gymnastics demands XENOM tests.

HYROX-Style Engine Work

Running, SkiErg, Echo Bike, burpees, and pacing. The repeatable engine that keeps you moving on Day 002.

Coached Game Plan

Pacing, transitions, mobility, and weakness triage. A coach maps your prep around your goals and your weakest of the 10 events.

Why CFBC Is Built for This

18 Years Coaching Hybrid Athletes

CrossFit BC has coached hybrid athletes in Vancouver since 2008. The qualities XENOM tests are the ones our weekly schedule already trains.

Three Disciplines, One Schedule

CrossFit, HYROX, and Olympic weightlifting all live inside the same gym. You do not need three memberships to prep for the 10 events.

Programming Around Your Goals

Coaches build your strength, skill, and engine work around where you are now and where you want to be, instead of random smashing.

Recovery + Mobility Built In

Mobility is part of the schedule. Snatch positions, overhead capacity, and hips that hold up across two days of hard work.

What Is XENOM?

The Decathlon of Fitness

XENOM is described by the official event organizers as "The Decathlon of Fitness." It is a 2-day competition made up of 10 fixed events designed to test total athletic performance across strength, gymnastics, Olympic lifting, and engine capacity, scored on a points-based index that contributes to a global ranking.

CrossFit BC helps Vancouver athletes prepare for the demands of that format. We are a training and preparation resource, not the official event.

How XENOM Is Scored

The Elite Performance Index (EPI)

XENOM uses a points-based system called the Elite Performance Index. Each event awards points based on performance, your scores add up across the 10 events, and that total contributes to a global ranking. It is standardised and repeatable, so your EPI follows you from one competition to the next as a single benchmark of total output.

New for London, the XENOM 005K

One event. One leaderboard. One shot.

XENOM has opened Event 005, the 2K Echo Ski plus 3K Run, as a standalone race on Sunday, August 30, 2026, Day 002 of XENOM London. Entry is listed at GBP 39 and includes a Sunday spectator ticket. You can race it as an individual or as a pair (male, female or mixed), where the pair splits the ski and both athletes run. Every finisher gets an official result on the global XENOM 005K leaderboard, scored against the same Elite Performance Index used in the full Decathlon of Fitness.

It is the cleanest entry point into the sport, and it is a ski-to-run transition, which is exactly what our HYROX and engine work already trains. If you are eyeing it, tell your coach and we will build the block around it.

Pricing, dates and formats are set by XENOM and may change. Confirm on xenom.global before booking travel.

Also new for London, Mixed Pairs

Two athletes. One score.

Starting with XENOM London, the Decathlon of Fitness adds a Mixed Pairs division: one male and one female athlete competing as a team on a shared score. Same 10 events, same arena floor at Olympia, and the same Elite Performance Index as every other division at XENOM London (August 29 to 30, 2026). It is the most requested format from the Dallas season and it is now open.

If you already have a training partner, this is the easiest way in. Tell your coach and we will build the pair strategy: who takes which piece, transitions, and pacing splits.

Divisions and formats are set by XENOM and may change. Confirm on xenom.global before booking travel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is CrossFit BC an official XENOM event host?

No. CrossFit BC is not the official XENOM website and we do not host an official XENOM competition. This page is for XENOM training and preparation in Vancouver. For official event information, tickets, standards, divisions, and updates, visit XENOM directly at xenom.global.

Do I need to be an elite athlete to train for XENOM?

No. XENOM is demanding, but training for the format can be scaled to your current level. We help athletes build the strength, skills, and engine the events ask for over time. You do not need to be elite to start, you just need to be willing to train consistently and let coaching do its thing.

What should I focus on first for XENOM?

Most athletes benefit from improving Olympic lifting technique, gymnastics capacity, aerobic engine, and pacing under fatigue. A coach can watch you move, find your biggest opportunities, and build a plan around them instead of having you guess.

Can CrossFit BC help with gymnastics skills like muscle-ups, toes-to-bar, rope climbs, and handstand push-ups?

Yes. Our Gymnastics Skills Development classes and coaching options are built to help athletes progress muscle-ups, toes-to-bar, rope climbs, wall walks, and handstand push-ups safely and consistently.

Can CrossFit BC help with the snatch and clean events?

Yes. Our Olympic Lifting Development classes focus on barbell technique, strength, confidence, and efficiency, which is exactly what the snatch, clean, and heavy barbell events reward.

Is HYROX training useful for XENOM?

Yes. HYROX and XENOM are different competitions, but the engine work transfers well: running, SkiErg and Echo Ski capacity, Echo Bike, burpees, pacing, and fatigue management all show up across the XENOM format.

Do you offer remote XENOM prep?

We coach in person in Vancouver's Olympic Village and offer coaching options for athletes who need more structure. If you are based outside Vancouver or want a tailored plan, talk to us about coaching options and we will tell you honestly what fits your situation.

Ready to Train for XENOM?

Start with 3 free classes, then talk to a coach about XENOM prep. We will help you build the engine, strength, skills, and confidence to show up ready. No magic shortcuts, just smart coaching and consistent work.

What Hybrid Athletes Say About Training Here

“I've already noticed a significant improvement in my strength and endurance, and the coaches are great at adjusting exercises when needed.”

The coaches provide positive feedback and adjust exercises if you're recovering from an injury. I've already felt stronger and fitter. The class times make it easy to stay consistent.
