CrossFit BC has been Vancouver's home for coached CrossFit since 2008, now in Olympic Village. 40 classes a week, scaled for every level, with coaches who train alongside members on the floor.

CrossFit BC has coached Vancouver since 2008, first in Yaletown and, since 2019, from 278 East 1st Avenue in Olympic Village. We run CrossFit, HYROX race prep, Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, and one-on-one coaching seven days a week, with every session scaled to the person doing it.

Common questions

Do I need to be fit to start CrossFit?

Not at all. Every workout is scaled to your current level. Our coaching team has helped thousands of true beginners, including people who haven't exercised in years. You just need to show up and we handle the rest. Most new members start with 3 free classes or the 30-Day Lifestyle Reset.

Is CrossFit safe for beginners?

Yes, when it is coached. At CFBC every class is led by a credentialed coach who watches your movement, scales the workout to you, and progresses load only when your mechanics are sound. We have run small-group coached CrossFit in Vancouver since 2008 with an excellent safety record. Beginners who want extra one-on-one time can start with our Foundations on-ramp.

What sets CrossFit BC apart?

Our coaching team has decades of combined on-the-floor experience, and every coach trains the same workouts alongside members. We are also a HYROX Training Club, one of the few Vancouver gyms offering DEXA + Nutrition Strategy Sessions, and we keep class sizes small so every person gets real coaching.

How is CrossFit different from a bootcamp or a self-guided membership?

A self-guided membership hands you equipment and leaves you to it. A bootcamp gives you the same workout regardless of level. Coached CrossFit at CFBC gives you constantly varied functional training, scaled to your body that day, with a coach watching every rep and a community training next to you. It is the structure most people are actually looking for.

What is the 30-Day Lifestyle Reset?

It is our signature on-ramp: a DEXA + Nutrition Strategy Session, fitness assessment, 8 personal training sessions, up to 12 group classes, nutrition coaching, and 30 days of real accountability. It is designed for people who want structure and support as they make a lasting lifestyle change.

What should I expect in my first CrossFit class?

Arrive 10 minutes early so a coach can meet you, learn your goals, and walk you through the space. You will warm up as a group, review the day's movements with scaled options, then complete the workout alongside other members. Expect roughly 60 minutes, modified loads, and a coach checking in on you the entire time.

Is CrossFit good for people over 40 or 50?

Yes. A large share of our membership is 40+ and we coach members into their 60s and 70s. Functional strength, mobility, and cardio capacity are exactly what protects you as you age. For members focused on healthy aging we also run our Living Legends program built specifically for the 55+ athlete.

I'm a busy professional. How much time will this take?

Most members train 3 to 5 times per week, 60 minutes per session. We run classes from early morning through evening so you can build a schedule around work and family. The 30-Day Lifestyle Reset is built specifically for people short on time who want a coach to handle the planning.

Do you offer personal training instead of group classes?

Yes. Many members start or supplement with one-on-one personal training, especially for skill work, rehab-adjacent training, or sport-specific prep. PT is also included inside the 30-Day Lifestyle Reset.

Where exactly are you located and what are your hours?

278 East 1st Avenue in Olympic Village, Vancouver, a short walk from the Olympic Village Canada Line station. We run classes from early morning through evening Monday to Friday, Saturdays 7am to 2pm, and Sundays 7:30am to 1:30pm. See the full schedule on our website.

How do I get started at CrossFit BC?

Two easy paths: book 3 free classes to experience the community first-hand, or jump straight into the 30-Day Lifestyle Reset for structured coaching and accountability. Either way we will talk with you first to make sure the right path is matched to your goals.

Is there a CrossFit gym near me in Vancouver?

If you're in central Vancouver, CFBC is likely your closest fully coached CrossFit gym. We're at 278 East 1st Avenue in Olympic Village, central to Mount Pleasant, False Creek, Yaletown, Strathcona, Main Street, and downtown. Most members reach us in 10 to 20 minutes by transit, bike, or car.

What's the closest CrossFit to downtown Vancouver, Yaletown, or Mount Pleasant?

CFBC in Olympic Village is one stop on the Canada Line from Yaletown and a short ride or walk from downtown and Mount Pleasant. We coached out of Yaletown for our first decade, so many downtown-side members have trained with us for years.

Do you have parking at the gym?

Yes. Parking is free. Five free stalls marked CFBC in the lot next to the gym, plus free 2-hour street parking on East 1st Avenue and the surrounding blocks. Most members find a spot within a block, even at peak class times, so budget a couple of extra minutes for the walk.

How do I get to CrossFit BC by SkyTrain or bus?

We're a short walk from the Olympic Village Canada Line station, and the 84, 3, and 8 buses all stop within a few minutes of the door. It's one of the easier central Vancouver gyms to reach without a car.

Can I bike or walk to CrossFit BC?

Easily. We're steps from the seawall and the Central Valley Greenway with bike racks at the door, and it's a comfortable walk from Mount Pleasant, False Creek, and Yaletown.

When are your classes and what are your hours near me?

We run classes from early morning through evening Monday to Friday, Saturdays 7am to 2pm, and Sundays 7:30am to 1:30pm, so there's almost always a session that fits a Vancouver work or family schedule. Check the live schedule on our website for exact class times.
