Hybrid Training in Vancouver: Strength That Runs

Strength, engine, and skill programmed as one weekly system at CrossFit BC. CrossFit, HYROX, Olympic lifting, mobility, and personal coaching under one roof in Olympic Village.

CrossFit BC has coached Vancouver since 2008, first in Yaletown and, since 2019, from 278 East 1st Avenue in Olympic Village. We run CrossFit, HYROX race prep, Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, and one-on-one coaching seven days a week, with every session scaled to the person doing it.

Common questions

What is hybrid training?

Hybrid training combines multiple disciplines, strength, conditioning, race-specific work, and skill development, into one programmed system. At CrossFit BC, that means CrossFit foundations, HYROX-style conditioning, Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, and personalised coaching, all under one roof.

How is this different from CrossFit alone?

CrossFit is one of the pillars. Hybrid adds race-specific HYROX programming, longer endurance work, and the option to build your training around a specific goal (race, body composition, longevity) instead of just general fitness.

How is this different from a HYROX-only gym?

A HYROX-only gym trains one race. We build the broader strength, engine, and technical base that makes you faster at HYROX AND capable in everything else. You don't have to choose.

Do I need experience to start?

No. Most members start in our 30-Day Lifestyle Reset or Foundations program. We build your base first, then expand into the disciplines that match your goals.

Is the 30-Day Lifestyle Reset a hybrid program?

Yes. The 30-Day Lifestyle Reset is built on hybrid principles, you'll touch CrossFit-style strength, HYROX-style conditioning, mobility, and habit/nutrition coaching across the month. It's the easiest way to experience hybrid training before committing to a longer membership, and most members roll straight into Life Performance, Guided, or Accelerator after.

What does a sample hybrid training week look like?

A typical CFBC hybrid week is 4 to 5 sessions: 2 strength-biased CrossFit classes (squat, press, pull), 1 HYROX-format engine session (run + sled + erg), 1 skill or Olympic lifting session, and 1 longer mixed-modal piece on the weekend. Mobility and recovery work is layered in alongside. Coaches scale every piece to your level and goals.

Is hybrid training good for longevity and aging well?

Yes. Strength, aerobic capacity, and mobility are the three biggest predictors of healthspan. Hybrid trains all three in one weekly system instead of forcing you to specialise. For members focused specifically on healthy aging we also run our Living Legends program built for adults 60+.

I'm a busy professional. Can I get results training 3 times a week?

Yes. Most busy-professional members train 3 to 4 hour-long sessions per week and make steady, measurable progress. Hybrid programming is built so 3 high-quality coached sessions cover strength, engine, and skill in the same week. We run classes from early morning through evening to fit work schedules.

How much does hybrid training cost in Vancouver?

Memberships start at $259/month for our Life Performance Plan (unlimited classes plus either Foundations or 4 coaching credits per year). Most hybrid athletes choose Guided ($599/mo) or Accelerator ($999/mo) for weekly 1-on-1 coaching plus unlimited classes. New to us? The 30-Day Lifestyle Reset is the recommended hybrid on-ramp.
