Why Foundations First
We want a teen's first class to feel great, not confusing or intimidating. Foundations gives our coaches three focused hours to teach the movements, the language and the habits that keep training safe and fun for years.
Teens learn to squat, press, hinge and pull with a coach watching every rep. They also learn our two barbell capstone lifts, the hang power clean and hang power snatch. These are taught from the hang position only, using a PVC pipe or an empty technique bar. There's no maxing out and no ego lifting. Nothing gets scored on day one.

What Happens After
When the course is done, our coaches write a handoff note covering each teen's strengths, what to keep an eye on, and how they like to be coached. When they walk into their first 4pm class, the coach already knows them.
A Note for Parents
- A parent or guardian signs the waiver before the first session.
- You're welcome to stay and watch.
- Tell us about any injuries, health concerns or sports seasons so we can plan around them.
We've coached Vancouver since 2008. Building strong, confident movers who stick with training for life is what we do best.
