Teens Welcome: Small Group Foundations for Ages 13 to 17

Our 4pm CrossFit classes, Monday to Friday, are now teen friendly. If you're 13 to 17, you have a place on our floor. Every teen starts the same way our adults do, with Foundations.

CrossFit BC has always been about real people getting stronger together. Lately, more of those people are whole families. Parents train before work, siblings show up for community events, and more teens are asking when it's their turn.

It's their turn now.

Our 4pm CrossFit classes, Monday to Friday, are now teen friendly. If you're 13 to 17, you have a place on our floor. Every teen starts the same way our adults do, with Foundations.

Why Foundations First

We want a teen's first class to feel great, not confusing or intimidating. Foundations gives our coaches three focused hours to teach the movements, the language and the habits that keep training safe and fun for years.

Teens learn to squat, press, hinge and pull with a coach watching every rep. They also learn our two barbell capstone lifts, the hang power clean and hang power snatch. These are taught from the hang position only, using a PVC pipe or an empty technique bar. There's no maxing out and no ego lifting. Nothing gets scored on day one.

What They'll Learn

Day 1, Squat Series: a movement screen and goal setting, then the air squat, front squat and overhead squat.

Day 2, Press Series: the shoulder press, push press and push jerk, plus bracing and how to set up for a deadlift.

Day 3, Pull Series and Barbell Capstone: the deadlift, sumo deadlift high pull and med ball clean, finishing with the hang power clean and hang power snatch.

What Happens After

When the course is done, our coaches write a handoff note covering each teen's strengths, what to keep an eye on, and how they like to be coached. When they walk into their first 4pm class, the coach already knows them.

A Note for Parents

  • A parent or guardian signs the waiver before the first session.
  • You're welcome to stay and watch.
  • Tell us about any injuries, health concerns or sports seasons so we can plan around them.

We've coached Vancouver since 2008. Building strong, confident movers who stick with training for life is what we do best.

Grab a Spot

There are only 6 spots, and registration closes Sunday, October 11 or when the group is full, whichever comes first.

Got more than one teen at home? The first is $149 and each sibling is $99. Got a friend who'd be into it? Sign up together, and you both get a free week of 4pm classes after the course.
