Claim your 3 free classes

Takes 20 seconds. We use this to have a coach expecting you, then send you straight to the class calendar.

Before you book, quick heads up

  • Your free pass covers selected CrossFit and 60-minute HYROX classes. Other sessions (Gymnastics, Olympic Weightlifting, Mobility, Open Gym, 90-minute SIM-ilar) are for members, and a class that reads FULL has simply used up its trial spots, so pick another open time.
  • Book all 3 at once if you can. Any class time that is shaded on the booking page is members only, so pick from the open times.
  • Each class holds a max of 2 free trials. If a time will not accept your booking it is already full, just grab another. That keeps class flow tight and gives your coach room to actually coach you.
  • Use all 3 within 10 days of your first class.

No card, no contract. We will text you once to confirm your first class and answer questions. Unsubscribe any time.

No guesswork and no pressure. Across three sessions our coaches get a feel for how you move, what your experience level is, and what you're chasing. You get to see the room, the people, and the coaching before you decide anything.

Claim your 3 free classes

Tap the button, pick a time that works for you, and you're booked. No credit card, no commitment.

2

Tell us where you're at

A few quick questions about your training history, any injuries, and your goals. A coach points you to the right first class.

3

Meet your coach

A coach greets you at the door, learns your name, and walks you through everything before you start.

4

We watch how you move

Your coach scales every movement to you and quietly reads your positions, range, and capacity. That's the assessment, no clipboard required.

5

Three sessions, a fuller picture

Different classes show different things. Three visits give us enough to recommend a real starting point instead of a guess.

6

Get your plan, decide freely

We share what we saw and the plan we'd build for you. If we're a fit both ways, we'll show you where to start. If not, we'll say so.

A quick note on trial spots

Some classes are limited to just one free trial spot per class. We keep it that way to protect priority access for our active members, and to keep every class safe and flowing well. It means our newest members and trial guests get top-notch coaching support, and genuinely feel seen and connected from day one.

Some weekly HYROX and CrossFit classes do allow more than one free trial, so you'll usually find a time that works. If you have any trouble booking, message us on WhatsApp and we'll get you sorted fast.

The first step for Vancouver locals

Your 3 free classes are step one

These 3 free classes are the first step for locals exploring membership. There is no pressure to decide anything during your trial. After it, we will help you choose the right membership based on your goals, schedule, experience, and comfort level. Membership starts with a conversation, not a checkout cart.

Not fit enough? Perfect. That's why we coach.

You do not need to be in shape before you start. You do not need to know CrossFit. You do not need to lift heavy.

Every workout can be scaled. Every class is coached. Every member started somewhere.

How guest spots work here

We cap how many guests can join any single class, and we hold our most popular time slots for members only. That is a deliberate choice. Members build their week around these classes, and they should never lose their spot at 6am on a Tuesday because a busy hour filled up with visitors.

It protects your first experience too. Fewer guests in a class means your coach has real time for you: how you move, what to scale, what to work on next. That is the coaching we would want on our own first day, so it is the coaching we run.

  • Select classes only

Free trials and drop-ins open in specific CrossFit and 60-minute HYROX classes. The schedule shows which ones are open to guests, so you always know before you book.

  • Limited guest spots per class

Each open class holds a small number of guest passes. Some hold one. When they are taken, that class is full for guests, and the next open time is usually the same day or the next morning.

  • Peak times are members first

Our busiest hours are blocked for guest booking. Members pay for reliable access to the times they train, and we keep that promise.

  • Some programs are members only

Gymnastics, Olympic Weightlifting, Mobility, Open Gym, and our 90-minute HYROX SIM-ilar classes are for people already training with us. On a monthly membership they are included. On a class pack, Mobility and Open Gym each spend one credit per visit. Cardio Club on Sundays is the exception, it is free and open to everyone.

Members only

Gymnastics, Olympic Weightlifting, HYROX 90 (SIM-ilar). These are not available on a free trial or a drop-in.

Members and class packs

Mobility and Open Gym are open to anyone already training with us. On a monthly membership they are included. On a class pack, each visit spends one credit, the same as any other class. They are not available to non-members.

Membership is what removes the ceiling: every class time, every program, Open Gym, SIM-ilar, and a coaching team who knows your name, your history, and what you are training for.

If the class you wanted is full for guests, message us and we will find you the next good fit. We would rather put you in the right room than squeeze you into a packed one.

What your membership unlocks

Your goals will change. Your gym shouldn't have to.

One membership. A lot of ways to get better. This is what you are trying out over your three free classes.

Straight answers

The honest answers to what's holding you back

The reasons people give for not starting, answered the way our coaches answer them in person.

Time

“I don't have time for this right now.”

Three coached hours a week. Classes are 60 minutes, run 7 days a week from early morning to evening, and the workout is already written when you arrive. You are not planning anything, you are showing up.

Most people who say they have no time are running an unbooked schedule, so training is the first thing that moves. Book the class like a meeting you would not cancel on someone else, start at three a week, and let the calendar hold the decision instead of your willpower.

See the class schedule

From Dai's writing: Could you imagine working 60 hours a week and only being paid for 30? (2016)

Time

“I'll start once things calm down.”

The calm month rarely arrives on schedule. Starting during a busy stretch is actually the honest test, because the plan you build under real conditions is the plan that survives. Three classes a week is deliberately small enough to hold when work gets loud.

From Dai's writing: Do you suffer from 'Tomorrow-itis'? (2016)

Walking in the door

“I need to get in shape before I come in.”

No. Every class is scaled to the person in front of the coach, and your first sessions are about learning positions, not chasing a score. Getting fit first is the part we do together.

Foundations walks you through the 11 movements before you join regular classes if you would rather learn in a quieter room first.

Start with 3 free classes

From Dai's writing: I was scared less, but I did it anyway (and kept on doing it!) (2019)

Walking in the door

“I'll be the slowest person in the room.”

Classes run in mixed groups on purpose, with the same warm-up, coaching cues, and finish time for everyone. Loads and reps change, the session does not. Nobody is tracking your score except you and your coach.

From Dai's writing: Does 'FEAR' propel you forward or hold you back? (2015)

Motivation and consistency

“I always start strong and then quit.”

Motivation is a mood, so we build around structure instead. A booked class, a coach who notices when you are missing, and training partners who expect you carry the weeks when motivation does not show up. Consistency here is a system, not a personality trait.

From Dai's writing: How to stay motivated on days when you want nothing more but to binge on Netflix (2016)

Motivation and consistency

“I can't do pull-ups, running, or any of that.”

Every movement has a version you can do today, and that version is the workout. Pull-ups start on a band or a ring row, running can be a bike or a row, and the coach picks with you before the clock starts.

From Dai's writing: Overcoming the "I Can't" Mindset: How to Embrace the Power of "I Can" (2024)

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm visiting Vancouver, should I do the free trial?
No. The 3 free classes are set aside for locals shopping for a home gym, so we can plan coaching capacity and follow-up around people who can actually join long-term. If you're in Vancouver on vacation, a work trip, or a training camp, please book a Drop-In instead. It takes about a minute, you get the same coached class experience, and it keeps trial spots open for locals who need them.
What are the coaches looking for during my 3 free classes?
The trial is a two-way fit check. Across three sessions your coaches get a feel for how you move (positions, range of motion, mechanics), where your experience level sits, how you recover between efforts, and what you're actually training for. Nothing is a test and nobody is grading you. At the end we tell you what we saw and recommend the plan we'd build for you, whether that's group classes, Foundations, HYROX, or 1-on-1 coaching. You get the same chance to decide if CrossFit BC is your place.
Which class should I try first?
Most beginners start with a coached CrossFit or strength class, but you don't have to decide alone. When you claim your 3 free classes we'll ask a couple of quick questions about your training history and goals, then point you to the best first class.
Can I try HYROX instead of CrossFit?
Yes. Your 3 free classes can include CrossFit, HYROX, or hybrid strength sessions. If you're curious about HYROX style training (running, sleds, ergs, and carries), tell us and we'll get you into a class that fits.
Why are some classes limited to one free trial spot?
Some classes are limited to just one free trial spot per class. We keep it that way to protect priority access for our active members, and to keep every class safe and flowing well. It means our newest members and trial guests get top-notch coaching support and genuinely feel seen and connected from day one.
Which classes can I use my free trial on?
Free trials run in select CrossFit and 60-minute HYROX classes, and each open class holds a limited number of guest spots. Our busiest times are held for members, because they build their week around those hours and should never lose a spot to a visitor. Gymnastics, Olympic Weightlifting, Mobility, Open Gym, and our 90-minute HYROX SIM-ilar classes are for people already training with us, members and HYROX class pack holders, so they are not part of the trial. Membership is what opens all of it up.
Are any classes open to more than one free trial?
Yes. Some weekly HYROX and CrossFit classes do allow more than one free trial spot, so you'll usually find a time that works. If you have any trouble booking, message us on WhatsApp and we'll get you sorted fast.
What actually happens in a class?
Every class runs about 60 minutes and follows a coach-led format: a warm-up, a skill or strength piece, the workout of the day, and a cool-down. Your coach walks the whole group through movements, scales anything as needed for your level, and keeps an eye on form and pacing. You'll never be dropped into a workout cold, and you'll always leave knowing what you did and why.
How does CrossFit BC handle medical emergencies?
Safety is a standard of care here, not an afterthought. We keep an AED and a fully stocked first-aid kit on premises, every coach holds Emergency First Aid CPR/AED Level C (Blended) certification, and we rehearse our Emergency Action Plan through onboarding walk-throughs, quarterly drills, and an annual full rehearsal. You can read the full standard in [our AED and first-aid article](/blog/why-crossfit-bc-has-an-aed-cpr-first-aid-standard/) and the [Emergency Action Plan overview](/emergency-action-plan/).
What should I bring to my first class?
Keep it simple: comfortable athletic clothes you can move and sweat in, indoor training shoes (flat-soled runners or cross-trainers work great, no street shoes on the floor), a full water bottle, and a small towel. That's it, everything else (barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, rowers, bikes, sleds, chalk) is provided. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early so your coach can meet you, walk you through the space, and show you where the AED and first-aid kit live at the front entrance. Change rooms, showers, and free lockers (bring your own lock or grab a loaner at the desk) are on site.
What happens when I arrive, and what should I do before class starts?
Head to 278 East 1st Avenue in Olympic Village (street parking on East 1st and Scotia, or a 4-minute walk from the Olympic Village SkyTrain station). Aim to be there 10 to 15 minutes before class. Come through the front entrance and check in at the front desk, that's where the AED and stocked first-aid kit live too, so you'll know exactly where they are. The desk will match you to your class, hand you a quick health-history intake if it's your first visit, and introduce you to your coach. From there: drop your bag in the change room or a free locker (bring your own lock or grab a loaner), fill your water bottle, swap into your indoor training shoes, and meet your coach on the floor. They'll walk you through the workout, show you where equipment lives, and scale anything as needed before the warm-up starts. If you're ever running late or can't find us, message us on WhatsApp at +1-604-683-2446 and we'll guide you in.
Do I need any experience to try a free class?
None at all. Our free trial is designed for complete beginners. Your coach will walk you through every movement, explain the workout, and scale everything to your level. Most of our members started with zero CrossFit experience.
What should I bring to my first class?
Just yourself, comfortable workout clothes, indoor shoes, and a water bottle. We have everything else you need. Show up 10 minutes early so we can welcome you and show you around.
Do I need to book all 3 classes at once?
No. You can book one class at a time and try them at your own pace. Most people spread them over 1–2 weeks, but you can use them whenever suits you.
Will I be able to keep up?
Yes. Every workout is scaled to your ability. You'll work at your own pace with coaching guidance. Nobody is comparing you to anyone else. Everyone's focused on their own workout.
What happens after my 3 free classes?
If you'd like to continue, the next step is our Foundations course: a series of one-on-one coaching sessions that prepare you for full membership. There's no pressure to decide. We're here whenever you're ready.
Is there really no catch? No credit card?
No catch, no credit card, no commitment. Your 3 classes are completely free. We want you to experience what we do before you make any decisions.

Come see if CrossFit BC feels like your place.

No card, no pressure. Just come train 3 times and see how it feels to have a coaching team and a community in your corner.
