Why a Sweat and Chat Intro Beats a No Sweat Intro

This article is part of the CrossFit BC journal, written by the coaching staff who run our classes in Olympic Village, Vancouver. We publish what we teach on the floor: training decisions, recovery, nutrition, and the honest tradeoffs behind them.

Common questions

What is a No Sweat Intro and why don't you do them?

A No Sweat Intro is a sit-down meeting where a coach asks about your goals, schedule, and budget before you ever train. We don't do them because we believe the most important things about a gym, the coaching, the community, and how you feel when you move, can only be discovered through experience, not conversation. Instead we offer three free classes so you can decide based on what you actually felt.

What does a Sweat and Chat intro look like at CrossFit BC?

You book three free classes, show up, and get coached the same way our members do, with a coach who knows you're new and adjusts the workout to where you are today. After your three classes, if you'd like to talk about membership, we sit down for a real conversation grounded in what you actually experienced. No pressure to decide before you've trained with us.

Why three classes instead of one?

One class is too small a sample size. The first class you're getting through the door. The second class your nervous system starts to settle. The third class is when something honest shows up about whether this is your place. Three classes also lets you experience different coaches, different workouts, and different members before deciding.
