Common questions

What is the CrossFit Effect?

The CrossFit Effect refers to the compound changes that happen when people commit to consistent, coached training in a community setting. It goes beyond physical fitness to include improved confidence, mental resilience, social connection, and a shift in how people see themselves.

Do I need to be fit to experience the CrossFit Effect?

No. The CrossFit Effect starts from your very first class. It is not about your fitness level -- it is about showing up, being coached, and training alongside people who support you.

How long does it take to notice changes from CrossFit?

Most people notice improved energy, mood, and confidence within the first 2 to 3 weeks. Measurable strength and body composition changes typically become visible within 6 to 8 weeks of consistent training.

Is CrossFit safe for beginners?

Yes, when properly coached. At CrossFit BC, all new members go through a Foundations program that teaches movements progressively. Every class is coached and every workout is scaled to your current ability.

What makes CrossFit different from a regular gym?

CrossFit provides coached group classes with programmed workouts, not open-floor self-directed training. You get expert coaching, a structured program, and a community that holds you accountable -- which is why adherence rates are significantly higher than traditional gyms.
