7 Free HYROX Tools to Help You Train Smarter, Pace Better, and Avoid Race-Day Regret

This article is part of the CrossFit BC journal, written by the coaching staff who run our classes in Olympic Village, Vancouver. We publish what we teach on the floor: training decisions, recovery, nutrition, and the honest tradeoffs behind them.

Common questions

Are these HYROX tools free?

Yes — every tool linked in this article is 100% free. No signup, no email wall, no credit card. We built them as part of CrossFit BC''s HYROX program and made them open to anyone training in Vancouver or anywhere else.

Do I need to be a CrossFit BC member to use them?

No. The tools are free and public. Members do get the benefit of coaches who can interpret your numbers in person, plug them into your weekly programming, and adjust as you progress — but you can absolutely use the tools on your own.

Which HYROX tool should I start with?

Start with the HYROX Readiness Check. It takes about two minutes and tells you whether your next best step is base building, race prep, or just fixing your sleep first. From there, the prep sequence in this article walks you through the rest in order.

Can beginners use these HYROX tools?

Yes. The Readiness Check and Time Predictor are especially beginner-friendly. The Station Split Planner and Pace Band Calculator are most useful once you have a few HYROX-style sessions under your belt and know roughly what your run and station paces look like.

Do these tools replace coaching?

No, and they''re not meant to. They give you clarity, better questions, and a smarter starting point. A good coach reads context, sees how you move, and adjusts on the fly — that''s a different job. Use the tools to think clearly, then use a coach to train clearly.

How do I know if I am ready for HYROX training?

Run the HYROX Readiness Check. The short version: you should be able to run 5K continuously, complete basic HYROX movements (wall balls, sled push, burpee broad jumps) with safe technique, and recover from 3–4 quality sessions per week. If any of those are shaky, start with foundations or our beginner HYROX path first.

Where can I train for HYROX in Vancouver?

At CrossFit BC in Mount Pleasant — 278 East 1st Avenue, Vancouver. We run dedicated HYROX classes, race-prep blocks, and a HYROX run club, plus full CrossFit programming if you want strength to come along for the ride. Book a free intro to come see the space and meet the coaches.
