You Can't Feel Community From a Clipboard

This article is part of the CrossFit BC journal, written by the coaching staff who run our classes in Olympic Village, Vancouver. We publish what we teach on the floor: training decisions, recovery, nutrition, and the honest tradeoffs behind them.

Common questions

Do I need to be fit before trying CrossFit BC?

No. That is exactly what coaching is for. Every workout can be modified to your current fitness level, experience and comfort. You start where you are.

What if I have never done CrossFit before?

Perfect. Most people start with no CrossFit experience. Our coaches will walk you through every movement, scale anything that needs scaling and keep you safe while you learn the rhythm.

Why do you offer three free classes instead of just one consultation?

Because one class is a snapshot and three classes are a pattern. You get to feel different coaches, different workouts and how your body responds across a week, which is the only honest way to decide if a gym is your fit.

Is this a high-pressure sales process?

No. The goal is fit, not pressure. After your three classes we have an honest conversation about whether the room is right for you, and if it is, what next step makes sense for your goals and schedule.

What happens after the three free classes?

If it feels like a fit, we will help you pick the best starting point, often Foundations for newer athletes or group CrossFit for those with experience. If it is not the right fit, we will tell you that too and point you somewhere that might be.

Can complete beginners join?

Yes. Beginners are welcome and very common. You do not need to be fit, experienced or confident to start. You just need to show up.

How do I book my three free classes at CrossFit BC?

Visit the free trial page at crossfitbc.com/free-trial, choose a class time, and we will see you on the floor. No credit card, no commitment, no pressure.
