Coaching Style

How Chris coaches

Technical, precise, and focused on quality movement. Chris brings a chiropractor's eye for biomechanics to every coaching session, helping athletes move better, safer, and more efficiently. His approach is grounded in technique-first coaching that builds lasting movement patterns.

Outside the Gym

When Chris isn't coaching

Chris is a dad, a chiropractor, and once played bass in a hardcore band in the mid-nineties. He's proof that CrossFit people have the most interesting backstories.

The Honest Version

What Chris got wrong, and how Chris coaches now

What I used to get wrong

"Twenty years ago I treated CrossFit like a sport first and a movement system second. As a chiropractor I was watching people pay later for what they got away with earlier."

How I coach now

I coach technique like it's a clinical decision, because for some athletes it is. If a rep won't be safe at scale or under load, we change the rep, not the goal.

Every CFBC coach answers this question. It's part of how we coach.
