2027 CrossFit Open Dates and Registration

Last updated: October 2026

Put the confirmed dates in your calendar, then leave room for the details CrossFit has still to publish. Entering the Open and booking a class are separate jobs. Here is how to keep them straight.

The confirmed 2027 dates

Registration opens January 7, 2027 at games.crossfit.com. Workout 27.1 is announced Thursday, February 18, 2027. Workout 27.2 is announced February 25, and 27.3 on March 4. The Open has three workouts over three weeks. Workouts are released Thursdays at noon Pacific, and scores are due Mondays at 5pm Pacific.

Give yourself room to read the instructions after each release. Check how the result is scored, what the judge needs to record and how validation works. Knowing the deadline helps you plan, while the workout instructions explain what you need to do before submitting.

If your work or family calendar is complicated, look at the weeks now rather than waiting for the first release. You do not yet need to know the movements to notice a travel conflict or a demanding work period. Planning breathing room is useful; inventing a precise workout timetable is not.

Before you register

The Open is open to anyone aged 14 or older, with no qualifying needed. Read the official overview and rules before entering. Check the registration information relevant to your circumstances, including age-group and adaptive eligibility if applicable. We list the confirmed age-group brackets in the masters guide, but the official rules remain the authority for registration details.

Think about where you plan to complete and record your workouts. Scores can be done at an affiliate and validated by that affiliate, or submitted by video. If you expect to train at CrossFit BC, make sure your registration reflects the affiliate you intend to represent. A local class booking does not make that selection for you.

You can start asking practical questions before registration opens. For example, discuss workout versions with a coach or find out where to check local event information. Keep a distinction between preparing at a gym and entering CrossFit's worldwide competition. They are connected activities with different booking and registration systems.

Registration, step by step

Start at games.crossfit.com when registration opens on January 7, 2027. Follow the current Open registration process, using your athlete account or creating the account the site requires. Read the information shown rather than relying on screenshots from an older season. Website labels and the order of checkout steps can change.

Review your athlete details carefully. When asked to choose your affiliate, select CrossFit BC if that is the affiliate you intend to register under. Check that the selection is correct before completing registration. If the site gives you an eligibility or account question you cannot resolve, use the official guidance rather than guessing an answer to get through checkout.

Check the displayed fee, currency and terms, then complete the payment and confirmation steps provided. Keep your confirmation and verify that your athlete account shows the registration. This is the point to catch an incomplete checkout or an incorrect affiliate selection, not after you have already done a workout.

Finally, return to the current Open overview for updates and instructions. Registration does not tell you which version to attempt in every week, nor does it automatically submit your results. You will make workout-specific decisions when each release is available.

What the fee information actually means

The registration fee was US$20 in 2026 and may vary by country: US$20 last season, confirm for 2027. Check the current fee and currency shown by CrossFit before paying. Your checkout will show what applies to this season. Keep that confirmation with your athlete details so you can check the entry later if needed.

The Open registration fee and local training are separate. Registering with CrossFit does not itself reserve a class at CrossFit BC. Similarly, the 3-Class Experience is a way to try training with us, not a package of Open entries. Use the booking options for the activity you actually want to attend.

If you are uncertain about a charge or booking, ask before completing it. The official checkout answers the competition-fee question. CrossFit BC's existing booking information answers the local class question. Keeping those sources distinct makes the process less confusing and avoids assuming something is included when it has not been stated.

After the workout: submit, then check validation

Read each workout's instructions before attempting it. Understand the score format and the movement standards, and make sure the judging or video arrangement follows the current rules. After completing the workout, submit the result through your athlete account as instructed. Do not assume that because someone recorded your result at the gym it has appeared in your online profile.

Affiliate completion and affiliate validation are related but separate parts of the process. Check that the score is entered correctly and follow up on validation through the appropriate affiliate process. For video submissions, read the current requirements before recording, so you do not discover afterwards that your setup missed something essential.

Scores are due Mondays at 5pm Pacific. Check games.crossfit.com for the current submission and validation requirements. Allow yourself time to check the result and resolve a question. A calm review of your submission is considerably more enjoyable than an administrative sprint at the last moment.

The season beyond the Open is not fully confirmed

The 2026 season ran through the Open, Quarterfinals, Semifinals and Games. The Games were in San Jose in July 2026. CrossFit says the 2027 season structure is changing, including the national championship path, and full details are still to come. We are not guessing at qualification rules or carrying last season's advancement conditions forward.

If advancement matters to your plans, keep checking the official rules and announcements. If your goal is your first Open, you can focus on registration, an appropriate workout version and a well-prepared attempt. Read the first-timer guide for the experience side of things, then return to the pillar whenever you need the wider picture.
