CrossFit vs HYROX Was the Wrong Question from CrossFit BC. CrossFit vs HYROX is the wrong question. A Vancouver coach on the four engines you actually need, why hybrid training wins the next decade, and how to…

Neither, in the abstract. They train different engines. CrossFit builds mixed-modal capacity, gymnastics, and barbell skill. HYROX builds pace, durability, and grinder strength. The right answer for you depends on which engines you are missing and which sport you will actually show up to.
Deliberately training more than one capacity in the same week, in a way that the capacities support each other rather than sabotage each other. For most adults that means 2 strength days, 2 mixed-modal days, 1 long aerobic day, 1 sport-specific day, and 1 real rest day.
No. Hybrid is a programming intent, not a brand combo. You can be a hybrid athlete training only CrossFit if you add a weekly long aerobic piece. You can be a hybrid athlete training only HYROX if you add real strength work. The label is the easy part, the programming is the work.
