Common questions

What happens in your first CrossFit class?

A typical first class runs about 60 minutes: arrive 10 minutes early for a coach chat about your goals and injuries, then a group warm-up, a coached skill or strength segment, the main workout scaled to your level and done alongside other members, and a short cool-down.

What should I bring to my first CrossFit class?

Comfortable athletic clothes you can sweat in, flat stable shoes (running shoes are fine to start), and a water bottle. You do not need a belt, special shoes, or supplements to begin.

Do I need to know the movements before my first class?

No. Teaching the movements is the coach's job. During the skill or strength segment the coach demonstrates each movement and gives you a scaled version, and first-timers get extra attention.
