Finding Your Footing Again: Balance, Mobility, and Fall Prevention After 50
This article is part of the CrossFit BC journal, written by the coaching staff who run our classes in Olympic Village, Vancouver. We publish what we teach on the floor: training decisions, recovery, nutrition, and the honest tradeoffs behind them.
Balance naturally declines with age, increasing your risk of falls. Falls are a leading cause of injury and can severely impact independence. Training balance helps maintain stability and prevents these life-altering events.
Flexibility is your passive range of motion (how far you can stretch), while mobility is your active range of motion (how far you can move a joint with control and strength). We focus on mobility because it translates directly to better movement in daily life.
Absolutely! Our Living Legends program is specifically designed for individuals aged 50 and better. All movements are scalable, expertly coached, and tailored to your current abilities, with a strong emphasis on building foundational strength, balance, and mobility in a safe and supportive environment.
