What are the 8 HYROX stations?

A HYROX race pairs eight 1 km runs with eight functional stations, always in the same order worldwide: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges, and wall balls. Because the format never changes, you can train each station specifically and compare your times race to race.

This is a direct answer from the CrossFit BC coaching team. Short version first, then the detail and the local context for training in Vancouver. If you want the same answer applied to your own situation, a coach will walk through it with you in person.

Common questions

Are the HYROX stations the same at every race?

Yes. The eight stations run in the same order at every HYROX event worldwide, so your training and your times are directly comparable from race to race.

What is the hardest HYROX station?

It varies by athlete, but many find the sled push and the wall balls toughest, especially late in the race on tired legs. Practising each under fatigue is the best preparation.

How much running is in a HYROX race?

You run 1 km before each of the eight stations, so a full race is about 8 km of running in total, plus the station work. That is why HYROX rewards running endurance.
