The Resistance Band Travel Workout: Full Body, 30 Minutes, One Bag

You can build meaningful strength with bands, especially if you are newer to training, and you can absolutely maintain strength with them. What bands do less well is provide the heavy, precisely loadable stimulus of a barbell at the top end. For travel, maintenance is the goal, and bands are excellent at it.
Two to three. Strength loss is much slower than people fear. Two well-executed sessions a week will hold nearly everything for a two to three week trip, and the walking most trips involve covers your conditioning.
A set of three loop bands (light, medium, heavy) plus one long band with handles if you have room. Total weight is under a kilogram and it fits in a packing cube. Check for cracks before every trip.
