Race Lab FAQ: 90-Minute HYROX Strategy Session from CrossFit BC. What HYROX Race Lab is, who the 90-minute strategy session suits, what happens from whiteboard to debrief, and the pricing ladder: $150 for the first athlete, $75 for each additional.
HYROX training at CrossFit BC runs seven days a week out of 278 East 1st Avenue in Olympic Village. Sleds, ski erg, wall balls, and running are all on site, and our 90-minute SIM-ilar classes rehearse the full race format under coaching.
Race Lab is a 90-minute strategy session with Coach Moose, booked as a single session when you want it. Half whiteboard, half floor time: we map your race, rehearse the pacing and transitions in practice, and finish with a written plan you take home. It is a tune-up for a race you already have on the calendar, not a training program.
Anyone with a fitness race coming up who wants the strategy dialled in before race day. It fits first-timers who want a clear plan for their first HYROX, athletes chasing a specific time, Doubles partners getting their handoff rhythm sorted, and anyone whose pacing falls apart in the back half. It works for Deadly Dozen, XENOM, or any fitness race, not only HYROX.
Three blocks. The first 30 minutes are at the whiteboard: your race, your goal, your pace band, and where time is being lost. The next 45 minutes are on the floor: stations, transitions, and pacing rehearsed under light fatigue with live coaching. The last 15 minutes are the debrief, where you write down your three biggest opportunities and your race-morning plan.
$150 for the first athlete, and $75 for each additional athlete after that. One athlete is $150, two athletes are $225, three are $300, and four are $375, which is the group cap. There is no payment when you request a session. You pay once a time is confirmed.
Yes, and it is the most popular way to run it. Up to four athletes share the floor, and everyone leaves with their own My Race Plan workbook, filled in from their own race and goal. The price per person drops as the group grows.
No. You send the request form, Coach Moose replies within one business day, and you pay once a time is confirmed. Nothing is charged up front.
A printed My Race Plan workbook, filled in by you during the session. It holds your pace band, a station-by-station plan with load, break pattern and cue, your transition rules, a halfway contingency, and a race-morning checklist.
No. Race Lab is one focused 90-minute session, so it sharpens a race you are already training for. If you want the full 12-week build, The Engine Room is the fit. For ongoing one-on-one coaching, start with personal training.
The official loads come from HYROX, not from us, so we confirm your division's official standards before the session rather than quoting them from memory. In your workbook, the load column is yours to fill in with your own working numbers.
Whenever it is useful. Some athletes book months out to shape a training block, others book in the final weeks to tighten race-day execution. It is a single session, so it works at any point, though the earlier you come in, the more of the plan you can rehearse in your own training.
