Buyer's guide for choosing a personal trainer in Vancouver, plus CrossFit BC's 1-on-1 coaching in Olympic Village since 2008. Certified coaches, programmed blocks, full facility.
CrossFit BC has coached Vancouver since 2008, first in Yaletown and, since 2019, from 278 East 1st Avenue in Olympic Village. We run CrossFit, HYROX race prep, Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, and one-on-one coaching seven days a week, with every session scaled to the person doing it.
Quality 1-on-1 personal training in Vancouver typically runs $90 to $160 per hour-long session depending on coach credentials and facility. CrossFit BC's PT starts at $135 per session as a drop-in, with discounts via our Guided ($599/mo) and Accelerator ($999/mo) memberships that bundle unlimited classes with weekly or twice-weekly PT.
Four things: credentials (CrossFit Level 2, USA Weightlifting, HYROX Performance Coach, Precision Nutrition, or NSCA), programming that is written for you and reviewed weekly, coverage of nutrition and recovery alongside training, and a properly insured facility with the equipment your goal requires. Ask any trainer to walk you through how they would build your first 8 weeks.
No. We offer drop-in PT for clients who only want 1-on-1 coaching. Most clients eventually bundle PT into a Guided or Accelerator membership for the better per-session rate plus unlimited classes, but it is not required.
278 East 1st Avenue in Vancouver's Olympic Village neighbourhood. We are a 5-minute walk from Main Street-Science World SkyTrain, with bus stops within a block. Five free CFBC stalls next door, free 2-hour street parking, secure bike and e-bike storage, and showers on site.
PT clients come in from Olympic Village, Mount Pleasant, Yaletown, Fairview, Cambie, Kitsilano, Downtown, the West End, East Vancouver, Strathcona, and even the North Shore via SeaBus and SkyTrain. The Main Street SkyTrain stop makes us highly accessible without a car.
Yes, when training is paired with nutrition and lifestyle coaching. At CFBC, PT for body composition usually combines a strength + conditioning program, Precision Nutrition coaching, quarterly DEXA scans for objective tracking, and the 30-Day Lifestyle Reset framework for habit work. Training alone moves the needle slowly; training plus nutrition moves it fast.
Yes, both. About 30% of CFBC's PT roster is over 50, and we run a dedicated Living Legends program for adults 60+. Coaches are trained to scale around joints, prior injuries, recovery needs, and recovery from surgery. Beginners start with a movement screen and Foundations-style progressions before adding load.
Yes. CFBC is one of Vancouver's official HYROX Training Clubs with HYROX Performance Coaches and all 8 race stations on site. Race-prep PT is one of our most-requested programs and covers pacing, transitions, run-walk strategy, and station efficiency, scaled to whichever division (Open, Pro, Doubles, Relay) you are training for.
